Transfig Literary aims to uplift trans and nonbinary voices by publishing work not only work that engages explicitly with transness, but also work that does not. Trans and nonbinary writers are invited to submit work which is about all manner of topics; we are interested in work that expands or extends beyond genre. Experimental and hybrid work is particularly exciting to us.

We welcome prose (fiction or creative nonfiction of 5000 words or less), poetry (up to 5 pieces, totaling no more than 10 pages), and visual art of all forms (up to 5 pieces, totaling no more than 20 minutes if including video content). Visual art may be considered for cover art.

Submissions including a combination of mediums are welcome; please attempt to keep your submission equivalent to the caps listed above. For example, you might share a combination prose and poetry submission which includes a 2000-word short story and 2–3 poems.

AI-generated and AI-assisted work is not welcome at Transfig Literary.

In your submission, please include a brief cover letter (we’d love to get to know you!) and a short, third-person bio. For written submissions, attach a single word document or PDF. For static visual submissions, attach PNGs. For video submissions, share a link to your work.
